Skip Tuttle Memorial BBQ Cook-off

Each year, the American Legion Mitchell Post #281 holds a BBQ Cook-off to raise money, bring the community together, and crown a BBQ champion. Teams cook pork shoulder roasts and showcase their best dishes. A panel of judges and community votes decide the winner based on the dish's appearance, tenderness, and taste. 

In 2026 the event was renamed the Skip Tuttle Memorial Cook-off in honor of the late USMC veteran and American Legion member Clifford "Skip" Tuttle. Skip's contributions to our community will live on for generations, and his memory will not be forgotten.
